Sump Pump Inspections

Please be advised that as per Authority rules and regulations all properties are required to have a sump pump inspection performed prior to a sale or transfer of ownership. No property shall connect sump pumps, dehumidifiers or other surface water runoffs including groundwater drains to the sewer system. Should a property be found in violation of this they will be required to remove the device and cap the connection. Following removal the Authority will be contacted by the owner, authorized representative for a re-inspection.

Notice to Residents of Mandatory Sump Pump Inspection

All inspections shall take place between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Appointments can be made by contacting the Authority’s main office during 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at 609-397-1496. Appointments can also be requested via email: mege@lambertvillemua.com.

LMUA Rules & Regulations:

3-3.3 Sump Pump Inspections. An inspection by the Lambertville Municipal Utilities Authority will be required of any sanitary sewage connection of any property for which outstanding sewer user fees are requested for transfer of title and that the inspection will be a condition precedent for the giving of the said outstanding user fees by the Lambertville Municipal Utilities Authority.

4-13 Surface Runoff and Groundwater Drains. No person shall connect roof, foundation, sump pump discharge, areaway, parking lot, roadway, or other surface runoff or groundwater drains to any sewer which is connected to a wastewater treatment facility unless such connection is authorized in writing by the Authority or under special agreement with the Authority.
